Another day, another season is upon us. With winter actually here a few quick reminders about the Park and the Skate Park.
In particular do NOT apply any de-icer of any kind to the skating surfaces. De-icing products (especially salt) will destroy the surface finish of the concrete in very short order.

Spring sprung, summer scorched, and fall is now upon us. The working group continues to meet regulary, and a little while back, a number of volunteers came out and (finally!!) finished staining the jack leg fence that establishes a vehicle barrier for the park.

2024 Clinton After School Skate camp!

The ASP skate camp will be run with Missoula City Parks and Recreation department, and available only to currently enrolled Clinton Elementary students in 2nd-8th grade. The Skate Camp will be offered for two three day sessions of about 13 students in March, on the 6th-8th and the 13th-15th with afternoon times matching the Clinton ASP times. The Skate Camp is being offered as a program outside of ASP, and is being funded through donations/sponsorship secured by the efforts of the Clinton Community Park Working Group (Thank you Jane!)

While we’ve been very quiet on social media and the web site here, the Park Working Group has been busy over winter! Today it is lazily snowing outside as I write this. The Park Working Group has been keeping regular monthly meetings with Missoula County PTOL all winter, and we’re all excited for Spring and Summer!

The hydroseeding contractors finished spraying down the grass+mulch mix on Friday the 10th! We’re asking everyone to please stay off of the green hydroseeded areas all around the skatepark surfaces. Thus far it looks like everyone is being really awesome about staying off the hydroseed, and we GREATLY appreciate that!

Evergreen Skateparks has shared a couple of 3D renders with us of what the hard surfaces should look like when they’re done! These renders are based off of the design documents and will closely reflect what will actually be built!

Hard Surfaces Funded

The hard surfaces are completely funded! This includes all of the earthworks, drainage, constuction materials, machinery, concrete, and man hours to build the actual hard surfaces of the skate park!

Sump Installed

CSS Contracting (Chris) was out this past weekend and installed the drainage sump. On his own dime he had the donated sump transported it to the site and installed it. It doesn’t look like much now that it’s in, but, that is also the point!

Today we managed to complete booking of sound, and three live acts for the Clinton Community Fair (2023!) on July 16th! – We’ll have Outlaws and Lawmen, The Mighty Travis (Travis Yost), and Tom Catmull playing for us!
